These spinach turkey burgers may be the healthiest, easiest and best-tasting burgers ever!
My husband, Walt, and I like ground turkey over ground hamburger. I’m not sure exactly why it might be because it has more moisture.
Ground beef can be very dry at times, especially when it’s been overcooked. It can also get stuck in our teeth, and that’s very annoying.
It’s not the fat content we’re concerned about, it’s the most flavorful taste in the ground turkey we like.
Ground turkey is also easier to work with when blending it with other ingredients and seasonings, so mixing it is quicker.
The best part about ground turkey, it’s less expensive than hamburger.
This recipe calls for 10 cups of fresh spinach, which sounds like a lot. Except, as you’re sautéing the spinach it breaks down significantly, and you end up with about 1 cup of cooked spinach.
I like to use organic fresh spinach since spinach is on the Environmental Working Group Dirty Dozen List, which means it is high in pesticide residues. Plus, I think fresh spinach tastes better than frozen.
You could also use thawed-out frozen spinach, which is fine if that’s what you prefer.
The flaxseeds are extremely beneficial it has anti-inflammatory Omega 3 essential fatty acids and high fiber. Studies show flaxseeds have been linked with improving heart disease, breast cancer, and autoimmune diseases!
