Prime Day Deals for Health & Wellness

Have you ever considered signing up for Amazon Prime? Buying organic and wellness products can get expensive. It’s tough when you’re already spending lots of money on doctor visits, lab work, supplements, and much more.

Fortunately, there are things you can do to help save some money!

I’ve been a member of Amazon Prime for many years, but it took me a while to sign up at first. I wasn’t sure if purchasing that expensive yearly membership fee was worth it. I’ll admit I’m a geek and a saver. I have to know where every little penny is going and which option saves me the most money – so I had to test it out first.

For one year I kept track of EVERYTHING I spent on Amazon. I wanted to see if paying for shipping was less expensive than the membership fee. In the end, I was amazed at how much I spent on shipping cost, it was much more than the yearly fee would have cost. So you guessed it – I signed up.

Saving at Whole Foods

I love the fact that I can use Amazon Prime’s free two-day shipping and have it delivered right to my door. You can also get a discount at Whole Foods since Amazon owns them. Just download the Whole Foods app and scan your Amazon Prime code right from your smartphone for the discount.

If you’re lucky and live in a certain area near a Whole Foods Market you also get FREE 2-hour delivery. (Not available in all areas.)

Saving Money on Supplements

Years ago I started buying many different supplements. My functional medicine doctor recommended supplements and had me order them directly from the manufacturer. But, I discovered it was actually cheaper to buy them through Amazon.

Since I buy these supplements each month I signed up for their “subscribe and save” promotion. This gives me an extra discount. Then, if you order five or more subscriptions and save products they give you an even bigger discount – whoo-hoo!

Did you know Amazon has its own supplements which cost a lot less? You only need to purchase three supplements when signing up for their subscription and save. But, I’m not sure of the quality so I personally only stick with supplements my doctor recommends.

Ordering from Amazon is so easy!

I order food, kitchen appliances, supplements, books, and natural products like laundry soap. I’ve also bought exercise equipment like balls, stretchy bands, and walking sticks. I especially LOVE saving extra money on wellness products with Amazon Prime.

I live in a rural area and the closest grocery store is just over eight miles away. If I want to buy something other than food it’s even further away. That’s why I love having it shipped to my house. Everyone in my family and the few neighbors I have all order MANY items from Amazon.

One more way where you can save money on Amazon Prime is by sharing the cost of the membership. My son who is in his twenties pays for half of the membership, we both get full benefits and it saves me even more money.

It took me a few years before I started using more of the benefits. Since I live in a rural area I don’t get a very good internet connection which limits me compared to people who live in urban areas. But free two-day shipping alone is worth it.

  • Amazon now features ‘next-day shipping’ with no minimum purchase or additional charge. Plus ‘Amazon Day’ offers consumers the option to deliver on scheduled days. (Only in certain locations.)
  • Receive a discount when shopping at Whole Foods by showing your Amazon Prime code.
  • Free music streaming, they have many different genres to choose from. I listen to this often, it’s a good way to relax and relieve stress.
  • Free movies, I can’t stream movies from my home but I can download a movie when I’m in town with better internet. Then I can watch it later offline.
  • Unlimited photo storage. It allows you to upload photos directly from your phone or computer.
  • See ‘Amazon Lightning Deals’ before non-members can see them.

Echo Devices

Echo devices are smart home devices. It’s Amazon’s voice-activated personal assistant that listens and responds to your commands. It not only plays music but lets you know if your favorite team won. There are many things “Alexa” can do to help you. Especially if you struggle with everyday movements.

By activating other compatible smart devices around your home you can control them using voice commands. Such as lights, televisions, thermostats, and other electrical items. Alexa can also read virtual books if you have vision problems or ask Alexa to order something from Amazon.

You can create your favorite music playlist or ask Alexa to lock your front door or open your miniblinds. You can ask what is half of a 3/4 cup or order a Lyft or Uber, you can also call someone. There are many things you can ask Alexa to do for you.

I own two, a “Dot” that’s in my living room and a “Show” that’s in my kitchen. She controls our TV, lights, thermostat, and plugs to turn things on and off (it’s handy during Christmas so we don’t have to climb under the tree to turn it on and off). We use her often throughout the day.
