Amazon’s Alexa can be a real game-changer for people with MS. You don’t need a Prime membership to use Alexa, but if you do have one, they work beautifully together. So, how can Alexa help?
First off, Alexa can simplify daily tasks. Struggling to remember your to-do list or when to take your supplements? Just ask Alexa to set reminders. She can also manage your calendar, so you never miss an appointment or a crucial medication time.
Feeling a bit isolated? Alexa can connect you with friends and family through voice or video calls. Just say, “Alexa, call Mom,” and you’re instantly connected. It’s like having a virtual assistant right at home.
Need to relax? Alexa can play your favorite music and audiobooks. It can even guide you through a meditation session. Just say the word, and you can listen to calming sounds or your favorite podcast while you rest.

Echo Devices
I own two Echo devices, a Dot and a Show. They are very handy and we use both of them multiple times each day. I have Alexa automatically turn our lights off and on. She (it, whatever) opens and closes our blinds, TV, and smart plugs. Alexa also plays my favorite music, calming music, or music when meditating. My husband listens to his favorite football team playing a game. We get weather warnings and reminders. It’s handy for setting timers and alarms or asking how many tablespoons are in a 1/4 cup.
