Looking for a naturally sweet and refreshing treat? This Mango & Dragon Fruit Smoothie Bowl is packed with anti-inflammatory nutrients, making it a great choice

Ever get so distracted that you don’t realize you’re using the wrong fruit? That’s exactly what happened when I made this recipe! I asked for papaya, but my husband brought home a mango. I didn’t even realize the mix-up until later—but you know what? It still worked beautifully! So, here’s the Mango & Dragon Fruit Smoothie Bowl, which is just as refreshing and packed with anti-inflammatory goodness.
Mangoes are one of the world’s most nutritious fruits. They are rich in vitamins A and C, which help reduce inflammation and support the immune system. It also contains fiber and digestive enzymes that promote gut health—important for anyone managing multiple sclerosis (MS). Dragon fruit is another superfood, loaded with antioxidants, fiber, and prebiotics to support digestion and fight oxidative stress. Together, they create a naturally sweet, creamy, and vibrant smoothie bowl!
How to Easily Cut a Mango

Mangos can be a little tricky if you’re not used to them, but here’s a simple way to do it:
- Slice off both ends – This makes it easier to stand up.
- Slice off the sides – Cut along both sides, avoiding the large pit in the center.
- Score the flesh – Make a crisscross pattern without cutting through the skin.
- Flip and scoop – Turn the mango half inside out and scoop out the cubes with a spoon.
NOTE: If you don’t want to use fresh mango, you can swap it for frozen mango chunks. They’re just as nutritious and even easier to use!
How to Easily Cut a Dragon Fruit

Dragon fruit comes in different colors, each with unique benefits!
- Yellow Dragon Fruit (above) – This variety is slightly sweeter and higher in vitamin C, which helps support the immune system and reduce inflammation.
- Pink Dragon Fruit (below) – This type is rich in antioxidants, particularly betalains, which help protect against oxidative stress and support brain health—especially important for MS.
Both are delicious and nutrient-packed, so feel free to use whichever you prefer! 😊
Cutting a dragon fruit is actually super easy! The skin is soft so it’s easy to cut. Here’s a simple method:
- Slice in Half – Use a sharp knife to cut the dragon fruit in half lengthwise. You could also cut the ends off, stand it up, and cut it in half going down.
- Scoop It Out – Take a spoon and scoop out the flesh, just like you would with an avocado.
- Chop and Enjoy – Place the flesh on a cutting board and slice it into cubes or any shape you like!

If you want neat slices, you can peel the skin off instead of scooping (see image above). Just cut the ends off, make a small cut in the flesh lengthwise, and gently pull the skin away. It peels right off! 😊
