Echo Show 8 (1st Gen, 2019 release)

Amazon’s Echo device “Alexa” helps people with multiple sclerosis (MS). It is programmed to activate other compatible smart devices through voice activation. Such as thermostat controls, light switches, televisions, etc. 

You can ask Alexa to do many things for you. Such as playing your favorite music, reading a virtual book, the weather, or calling a phone number for you. Alexa can even order take-out food or order an Uber. Alexa comes in handy if you struggle with vision problems, walk, or you have weakness in your hands. 

I own two Alexas, one is in the living room and the other is in the kitchen. Both are used every day.

Kasa Smart Bulb

Having smart light bulbs that work with Alexa is very helpful if you struggle with walking. You can dim, turn on or off, or change the colors of your light bulb by using simple voice commands.

Ninja Foodi

I own a Ninja Foodi and use it almost every day for practically everything. It is easy to use, it cooks everything quickly, and it’s easy to clean up.

It comes with two lids, one for pressure cooking and one for crisping. I use it for searing meats, steaming or roasting vegetables, making bone broth, slow cooking, and air frying. You can even dehydrate herbs.

I’ve cooked many different foods. Including bacon, roasted whole chicken, and steamed sweet potatoes. The food always turns out perfect and delicious – yum!

I’ve even put frozen chicken in the basket and pressure-cooked it on low. In no time at all, it was ready to eat. It saves me time from defrosting and the meat comes out tender. 

The Ninja Foodi comes with a non-stick PTFE/PFOA-free ceramic-coated pot and it has a crisp basket. Plus, this one comes with a stainless steel reversible rack which is something mine didn’t come with. It allows you to layer food and dehydrate fruit or beef jerky.

Glass Food Storage Containers with Locking Lids

Now that you are cooking more at home these food storage containers would be great. Plus, they are BPA-free. I like using storage containers that are clear so you can see what is inside. There’s nothing worse than opening up a container with rotten food inside.
