If you haven’t tried frozen grapes you need to try them, you will never eat regular grapes again!
It’s been very warm here, even in the middle of October we are hitting record highs. Not that I’m complaining, I love this warmer weather but it’s got me craving something cool to eat.
I love grapes even when I was a kid I loved them, they’ve always been a treat. I always bought green grapes, it wasn’t until I was an adult when our young son asked for “purple grapes” instead, now red grapes are all I buy.
When it’s warmer weather it’s nice to eat something cooler like fresh grapes, but sometimes I’m craving something a little colder.
I always have frozen blueberries in the freezer and I like to sneak a few out to eat, but they stain my fingers and I don’t like that.
Now, I have the perfect solution – Frozen Grapes!
I like to keep quick healthy snacks around, or I’ll be tempted to eat something I shouldn’t. I like to keep fruit, cut-up veggies, almond butter, nuts & seeds, and homemade trail mix, in the house, I even keep Lara Bars in my purse for emergencies. Right now our favorite is – frozen grapes!
Buy a couple of pounds of ripe organic red or green grapes and rinse them off. If you can’t afford organic or they aren’t available rinse them in vinegar first to wash off any pesticides.
- Fill a bowl with water and add 1/8-1/2 cup of vinegar, depending on the size of your bowl
- Place the seedless grapes in the bowl & soak for 15-20 minutes
- Rinse with water, you won’t be able to taste the vinegar
Use a paper towel to gently blot dry & remove any excess water. Store the grapes in a freezer bag, I like to store my grapes in a glass Pyrex bowl with a lid.
It will take a couple of hours for them to completely freeze, but it is worth the wait! They come out sweet, cold, crisp, and refreshing – perfect for that warmer day!
They will last for weeks in the freezer, mine never last that long!
Have you ever tried frozen grapes before?
