There are some kitchen tools, I’ve found extremely helpful. I recently found myself with a gift card burning a hole in my pocket. After some thought, I decided to invest in a NutriBullet, something I’d been eyeing for a while. And let me tell you, it’s been a total game-changer. Now, blending up nutritious goodies is a breeze.
Whether it’s a nourishing smoothie packed with fruits and veggies or a homemade soup bursting with flavor, kitchen tools can make it easier to whip up something delicious. – I highly recommend getting one.
Below are some kitchen tools I think you will like. – I will include helpful kitchen tools I like and own.
However, they can get expensive but they are helpful. For example, an electric hand juicer can be useful when juicing lemons, limes, and oranges. A manual hand juicer can tire your hands and make it hard to get the most juice. Kitchen tools also speed up the process so you’re not spending as much time standing in the kitchen.
You don’t need to buy everything all at once. Purchase what you think you’ll use the most then add on as you see fitting.

Air Fryers
Air fryers are a fantastic addition to any kitchen for those looking to enjoy healthier homemade meals without sacrificing flavor or texture. Using just a fraction of the oil traditionally required for frying, air fryers crisp up foods to perfection by circulating hot air around them, resulting in deliciously crispy exteriors and tender interiors. From crispy french fries to perfectly roasted vegetables and even soups.
Air fryers are a summer kitchen essential, especially for those sensitive to heat, as they offer a fantastic alternative to traditional baking methods that can heat up the kitchen. With their ability to circulate hot air evenly around the food, air fryers provide a convenient and energy-efficient way to bake without generating heat.
This is the air fryer I use. I’ve used it to air crisp, pressure cook, sear, steam, and more:
Blenders
High-speed blenders are super handy because they can blitz through tough ingredients like ice, nuts, and fibrous fruits with ease, giving you smooth and creamy results in seconds. Whether you’re whipping up a refreshing smoothie, creamy soup, or even homemade nut butter, a high-speed blender gets the job done quickly and effortlessly, making it a must-have for any kitchen. Trust me, once you have one, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it!
Blendtec Blenders
Having owned a Blendtec blender for many years, I can confidently say it’s been one of the best investments I’ve made for my kitchen! I originally purchased it because it was on clearance but also because of its reputation for durability and performance. – It hasn’t disappointed me.
Despite the passing years, it continues to impress me with its ability to blend ingredients effortlessly and produce consistently smooth results. Whether I’m making morning smoothies, creamy soups, or delicious sauces, my trusty Blendtec blender never fails to deliver. It’s become an important part of my kitchen routine, and I couldn’t imagine life without it!
Ninja Blenders
My first high-speed blender was a Ninja blender which was over 10 years ago. I liked it except, it takes longer to blend and it’s very noisy so I upgraded. I gave it to my son and he and his family still use it today.
Personal Blenders
Personal blenders are convenient and portable. These compact and lightweight appliances are specifically designed for single-serving portions, making them perfect for busy individuals or those with limited kitchen space. They offer quick and easy blending solutions without the hassle of larger appliances. Plus, their simple operation and easy cleanup make them ideal for everyday use. With personal blenders, you can enjoy your favorite blended beverages wherever life takes you, making healthy eating on-the-go a breeze.
I own a nutribullet Personal Blender and it has become my kitchen sidekick for whipping up refreshing smoothies and creating sauces, almond butter, and homemade applesauce. It’s a versatile powerhouse that never disappoints. Its compact size and simple design make it a breeze to use and clean. Its powerful motor ensures that everything blends to perfection in seconds.
Vitamix Blenders
Vitamix blenders are very popular and are renowned for their exceptional performance, durability, and versatility, making them a top choice.
Regular Blenders
Regular blenders don’t pack the same punch as high-speed blenders. But they still get the job done at a fraction of the cost. They effectively blend ingredients into smooth concoctions, though they may struggle with tougher items like ice and fibrous fruits. While they don’t match high-speed blenders’ abilities, they are more budget-friendly and still provide reliable performance for everyday blending tasks.
Cast Iron Skillets
Cast iron skillets offer excellent heat retention, and durability, and provide even cooking. They also boost iron intake and transition easily from stovetop to oven. They last for generations making them a kitchen essential for any home cook.
Ceramic Frying Pans with Lids
Ceramic frying pans offer non-stick cooking without harmful chemicals, making them a healthier option. Plus, they distribute heat evenly, ensuring your food cooks uniformly every time.
Ceramic Pots and Pans
Ceramic pots and pans provide non-toxic cooking surfaces free from harmful chemicals, promoting healthier meals. They also offer excellent heat retention and distribution, ensuring consistent cooking results with minimal hot spots.
Comal/Tortilla Pan
A comal or tortilla pan is perfect for making authentic, homemade tortillas. Its flat surface allows for even heating, resulting in perfectly cooked tortillas every time. I own a Victoria Cast Iron Comal Griddle pan. It makes perfect tortillas, I also use it to fry onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers.
Cutting Boards
Cutting boards provide a stable surface for chopping ingredients, protecting your countertops from damage. They also help prevent cross-contamination by providing a designated area for preparing different types of food.
Dutch Ovens
Owning a Dutch oven is a game-changer for cooking delicious and juicy roasted chicken. Its thick walls and tight-fitting lid help retain moisture, creating tender and flavorful results every time. Plus, its versatility extends beyond roasting, making it perfect for soups and stews. I own a 6 qt. Lodge Dutch Oven, mine is red but they have many colors to choose from.
Food Chopper/Slicers
Food choppers/slicers simplify meal prep by quickly and evenly cutting ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and nuts. With their sharp blades and ergonomic designs, they make chopping and slicing tasks safer and more efficient, saving you time and effort in the kitchen.
Food Processors
I own a Hamilton Beach food processor and effortlessly make nut butter, cauliflower rice, and “nice” cream – yum! Food processors have a powerful motor and sharp blades that handle a variety of tasks with ease. They help make meal prep a breeze, saving you time and effort in the kitchen.
Glass Food Storage Containers with Lids
Glass food storage containers with lids are durable, versatile, and eco-friendly, offering a safe and convenient way to store and reheat leftovers. Plus, their transparent design allows you to easily see what’s inside, making meal planning and organization a breeze.
Hand Juicers
A hand juicer is a handy tool for squeezing fresh juice from citrus fruits quickly and efficiently, offering a convenient way to enjoy homemade beverages without the need for electricity.
I own a BLACK+DECKER 32oz Citrus Juicer. I find squeezing the juice out is easier than a hand juicer no matter what size the fruit is. It’s a valuable tool for those with weak hands because it requires minimal strength to operate, allowing people to easily juice citrus fruits without using excessive effort.
Immersion Blenders
An immersion blender is a versatile kitchen tool that allows for convenient and mess-free blending directly in pots, bowls, or cups, making it perfect for creating smooth soups, sauces, and smoothies with ease.
Jars with Lids
Glass jars keep your food and drinks safe by preventing contaminants from leaching into your food and drinks.
Juicers
Owning a juicer allows you to easily create fresh and nutritious juices from fruits and vegetables, perfect for boosting your daily intake of vitamins and minerals while enjoying delicious and refreshing beverages.
It’s best to get a masticating juicer because it operates at a slower speed. It gently crushes and squeezes ingredients to extract juice with minimal oxidation. A centrifugal juicer spins rapidly to separate the juice from the pulp, often producing juice faster but with more oxidation.
I’ve owned two juicers, the first one was less expensive but it broke within three months. I now own an Omega MM900HDS juicer. It does cost more but I’ve owned it since 2022 and it still works great. Plus, it produces more juice creating dry pulp.
Kitchen Knife
A sharp knife requires less pressure to cut, which reduces the risk of slips and accidental cuts. It also gives you more control over what your blade is doing.
Kitchen Scissors
Owning quality kitchen scissors can make meal prep a breeze. I own several of them including one with a serrated blade for cutting meat.
Mandolines
Mandolines can make precise cuts on fruits and vegetables faster than knives, especially when slicing consistently. They’re perfect for making french fries, slicing onions, vegetable slaws, or uniform veggie slices.
Measuring Cups and Spoons
Metal measuring cups are used for dry ingredients where as glass measuring cups are typically used for measuring liquids. Measuring spoons are useful for measuring small amounts of dry and liquid ingredients. They can accurately measure spices, flour, baking powder, and other dry ingredients. They can also measure liquid ingredients like honey, nut milk, or tomato paste.
Metal Measuring Cups
Glass Measuring Cups
This is the measuring cup I own. The numbers are larger so it’s easier to read plus it has a lid which I find handy.
Measuring Spoons
Miscellaneous
Herb Scissors. I bought these herb scissors thinking they would help speed up my food prep. Instead, I use it mostly for peeling oranges and mandarines. Holding the fruit on both ends with two fingers I use the tool with a sharp point to score around the fruit. Then using the sharp point I easily peel the skin off without getting my fingers messy.
I also use the herb stripper (the oval-shaped one with holes in it) to clean my comal pan. These tools are very versatile, you just need to think outside the box.
Unbleached Parchment Paper offers a natural and eco-friendly alternative for baking and cooking, providing a non-stick surface without the use of harmful chemicals or additives.
Mixing Bowls with Lid
Glass mixing bowls are transparent so you can see what you’re doing. You can use them in the oven, microwave, and freezer and they’re dishwasher-safe. Plus, they insulate hot food well and don’t absorb the smell of food. I like to use a medium-sized mixing bowl as my individual salad bowl.
Spice/Coffee Grinders
Electric grinders are handy for grinding whole spices instead of buying preground ones which can improve their taste and aroma. They are easier and quicker to use compared to manual grinders. Plus, they are great for grinding flaxseeds. The one I own is very old and is no longer for sale but Krups made it.
Silicone Mixing Spoons
Silicone mixing spoons are ideal for stirring and folding ingredients, or scraping sauce out of pans. They are heat resistant, easy to clean, and prevent scratches on plates and pans. Plus, they are BPA-free, latex-free, PVC-free, and phthalate-free.
Silicone Spatula
Silicone spatulas don’t leach harmful chemicals into food. They can withstand high temperatures, sometimes up to 600°F.
Slow Cookers/Crockpots/Instapots
Slow cookers/crockpots help make tough foods tender and melt in your mouth. A crockpot is perfect for making shredded chicken in tacos or other dishes. It’s also good for soups and stews. Instant pots do the same but you can also pressure cook, sauté, steam, and bake food.
